Curriculum Overview

ASSESSMENT & PROMOTION SYSTEM

We follow a comprehensive assessment system designed to evaluate a child’s academic progress, behavioural development, and skill acquisition through both Formative (FA) and Summative (SA) assessments.

Formative Assessment (FA): Continuous Evaluation

Conducted throughout the year through:

  • Class tests (oral & written)

  • Project work

  • Assignments

  • Classroom participation

  • Practical and co-scholastic activities

  • Teamwork, behaviour, cultural participation

FA helps teachers understand each child’s progress and provide timely support.

Summative Assessment (SA): Term Examinations

Exams are conducted three times yearly:

  • First Term – May

  • Second Term – September

  • Final Term – December

SA evaluates overall learning outcomes, retention, and performance.

Promotion Criteria:

To be promoted, students must:

  • Secure at least 40% in compulsory subjects

  • Maintain 90% attendance

  • Fulfil both scholastic and co-scholastic expectations

Re-test Policy:

  • Students below 40% in compulsory subjects must appear for a February Retest

  • No second retest is allowed

  • Students failing twice cannot continue in the same class

This system ensures fairness, consistency, and holistic development.
